Animal Rights Background

Because animals have no rights it is necessary to protect them. Animals are subjected to exploitation, cruelty and outright killing on a daily basis. Much of the shameful actions against animals are institutionalized. At SVAR we recognize that change won't occur in a timely fashion however it's not impossible to make the situation better. SVAR's focus in animal rights work will bring us closer to protecting animals from everyday harm.

We believe that increasing community awareness of policies and laws that impact animals either adversely or favorably brings great results. Many times helping animals is as easy as writing a check to support a campaign or writing a one paragraph email in support or opposition to a certain policy.
